NY Comic Con to Screen Mass Effect, 1st Berserk Film

The official schedule for New York Comic Con lists that the event will screen both the Mass Effect: Paragon Lost animated film and the first Berserk film, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King.

The game developer Electronic Arts and its subsidiary BioWare, the North American distributor FUNimation Entertainment, and the anime studio Production I.G are partnering with T.O. Entertainment to produce the Mass Effect: Paragon Lostfilm.

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost will serve as a prequel to the Mass Effect 3 role-playing game, which Electronic Arts released on the PC and PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. According to Funimation, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost “follows the early career of Alliance Marine, James Vega. Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes.” Funimation streamed an 85-second English-dubbed trailer for the film earlier this month. Funimation will release the film on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on December 28.

Mass Effect: Paragon Lostis slated to screen screen at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 13 at 8:00 p.m.

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King is the first of three films in Studio 4°C‘s theatrical adaptation of Kentarou Miura‘s Berserk manga. The second film in the series opened in Japan on June 23, and the third film will openin Japan in January after being delayed from this year.

Viz Media will release the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on November 27in North America.

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the Kingis slated to screen at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 12 at 8:15 p.m.

The schedule also lists that Viz Media will screen the Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire film on October 13 at 2:45 p.m. Naruto Shippuden: The Will of Fire is the third Naruto Shippuden film and the sixth Naruto film the overall. Masahiko Murata, who also directed Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison and Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower, directed the film, and Naruto Shippuden screenwriter Junki Takegami handled the screenplay. Viz Media will releasethe film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on October 23.

New York Comic Con will be held at the Javits Convention Center from October 11-14. The convention will also host actress/singer Yuu Asakawa, Blogger/TV host Danny Choo, Crypton Future Media, artist Yoshitaka Amano, Sunrise producer Kazuhiko Tamura, Young King Ours editor-in-chief Masahiro Ohno, and manga creators Moyoco Anno, Masakazu Katsura, Toshio Maeda, and Masakazu Ishiguro.
